Inspired by the future in space exploration, and the inevitable journey to Mars
The Vapormax 2019 was inspired by spacesuit materials and construction. Nike By You used this as the underlying theme for the collection, and expanded on it with the addition of materials and treatments that would connect with that inspiration. This included a mission patch tongue label, foil accents, perforated lace aglets and semi-translucent webbing. These materials were combined with a color palette that played out in three distinct color directions told through brand marketing; Star Gazer, Pioneer and Frontier.
